An evening with Big Vern ‘n’ The Shootahs
One of the UK’s biggest and hottest live bands is coming to Lanark Memorial Hall for a unique and intimate live show. Scotland’s Big Vern n the Shootahs are renowned throughout the live music circuit as the ultimate feel-good party band. If you like Sweet Soul Music and some great horn driven funk, this is the night for you.
There really is nothing to compare to a Big Vern n the Shootahs gig. A 9-piece powerhouse which has been rocking audiences all over the UK since 1989.
This band is at the forefront of live entertainment in the UK and abroad, whether at festivals, corporate show or even just on their own. As individuals, the band has a great pedigree, including Rupert Black on keyboards (The Pretenders, The Alarm, Talk Talk), the Big Vern horns (Wet Wet Wet, Danny Wilson, Gallagher & Lyle, Jim Diamond) and Kevin ‘morph’ Dobie on guitar (Donnie Munro solo)
A big name (literally), a big band they are a Premier League outfit – second to no-one. Classic funk, soul and party music augmented with great stage routines and a kicking fat sound. Once described as the outcome of the Blues Brothers and Prince having a square-go round the back of a studio. Come and see what the fuss is all about, you’ll not be disappointed.
